Accounting Clerk

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday, with opportunities for overtime
Overview
The Accounting Clerks plays a vital role in both the customer experience and the administrative operations of the company. This position supports the organization's financial functions by ensuring accurate records, timely processing, and consistent communication.

Essential Job Functions
- Compute, classify, and record numerical data to maintain complete financial records.
- Verify accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings related to business transactions entered by other team members.
- Search files, databases, and reference materials to obtain required information.
- Validate accuracy of financial and transactional data.
- Prepare documentation related to contracts, transactions, and regulatory compliance.
- Review and interpret monthly billing schedule of values for draft payment applications.
- Reconcile records of various financial transactions.
- Record approved payment applications and process them per contract requirements.
- Answer incoming calls, directing callers or providing information as needed.
- Initiate collections procedures when required.
- Assist with reviewing certified payroll reports.
- Support contract administration tasks.
- Present weekly cash position report to management.
- Document and assist with billing projections.
- File and maintain records and documentation.
- Perform occasional duties outside the typical scope of the job description.
Qualifications
- Four or more years of experience in a similar position, or a combination of education, training, and experience (required).
- Strong understanding of math and accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong overall computer proficiency.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment beyond routine tasks.
- High level of accuracy, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Preferred experience with TimberScan, Sage, and Procore.
